Customer Support Engineer/Surveyor

The successful applicant will provide customers with effective technical support and application knowledge across our product range including acoustic positioning and sub bottom profiling equipment. Whilst at base, applicants with an electronics background will also be repairing returned client equipment, producing reports for quotation and maintaining loan / demonstration equipment. The position will be based in Great Yarmouth but does involve travel worldwide – an estimate of 60-80 days per year away.

Responsibilities:

  •     Provide technical support by telephone / email.
  •     Repair of AAE equipment on site.
  •     Provide customer training on site / in classroom.
  •     Work alongside development team to test and develop new products.
  •     Evaluate, report and repair AAE manufactured equipment at base.
  •     Manage and maintain lease / demo pool equipment.
  •     Promote system improvements, upgrades and after sales opportunities.
  •     Provide client feedback.
  •     Participate in out of hours call out roster.
  •     Attend trade events, exhibitions, conferences as necessary to maintain and update your technical knowledge.

The Applicant:

  •     Educated to degree level or equivalent in Electronics or Surveying.
  •     Operational experience within the Geophysical and Hydrographic industry a distinct advantage.
  •     Ability to travel domestically and internationally at short notice.
  •     Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  •     Computer literate, familiar with MS Office applications.
  •     High standard of written and spoken English.

Technical Sales Advisors / Application Specialists (Subsea Division):

Talented specialists required to join a dynamic sales team.

The successful applicants will be required to provide application and solution advice to our diverse client base and across our extensive product range, which includes subsea acoustic positioning and geological survey systems (sub bottom profiling).  Combining current technical expertise with experience of the hydrographic and offshore geophysical survey industry, applicants will be challenged with bringing our capabilities to market through our standard product range and bespoke solutions. The position will be based in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, UK, with opportunities for domestic and international travel estimated to be 60-80 days per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a point of contact for existing and potential clients within given territories.
  • Advise clients on the group companies’ range of products and services.
  • Develop technological solutions to meet clients’ requirements.
  • Maintain and build client relationships through regular site visits, emails, telephone calls etc.
  • Seek out new opportunities via proactive sales and after-sales activity.
  • Generate and follow up on all leads, quotations, opportunities etc.
  • Produce and deliver technical and sales presentations and papers.
  • Produce and deliver client training events on site and in classroom environments.
  • Attend trade events, exhibitions and conferences to promote the activities of all group companies.
  • Organise and assist with client facing trials and demonstrations.
  • Input ideas, suggestions, client feedback into product improvement and development teams.
  • Report sales activity and other relevant information to the Sales Manager/Director.

The Applicant:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in an Engineering or Hydrographic discipline.
  • At least five years’ experience within the Subsea Geophysical, Hydrographic or related industry sector.
  •  Good theoretical and/or practical knowledge of electronics and subsea acoustics an advantage.
  • Good theoretical and/or practical knowledge of offshore survey techniques and applications an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Computer literate, familiar with MS Office applications.
  • Possess a high standard of written and spoken English, organisational and communication skills.
  • Possess necessary credentials to work in the UK and travel globally.
